Guitar Development

For years now I’ve been asked by various people if I teach guitar and my answer plain and simple is no.
Why is that? Well, being self taught from the age of 12 doesn’t really qualify me to be a “Guitar Teacher” as I have tried but never felt comfortable taking pupils hard earned cash when I couldn’t back it up with the theory.
What I’ve recently been asked is would I give people my personal view on their playing. And make suggestions to improve their playing techniques. They have found this very helpful and I’ve found it very rewarding.
I have come across players who on their own admission are too wrapped up in remembering chord shapes and picking correctly that they lose all sense of feel and what the song is all about in the first place.
So in a way it is teaching but not in the traditional method.
If you feel this would be of any use to you drop me an email.
Thanks.
